High-Quality Sustainable Charcoal - Carboliva

Carboliva is a company based in Osuna (Sevilla), operated by Álvaro Espuny, Andalusian businessman in the oil sector and with generations of experience in the biomass of olive groves.

Our work is focused on the evaluation of olive grove biomasses, from which we create high quality charcoal and produce clean and sustainable thermal energy.

We seek sustainability in everything we do, and for that we apply the latest innovations and the most advanced quality control systems. By doing so, we also make Carboliva a profitable business, capable of distributing our product all around the globe.

Values

We base our work on three essential pillars. These pillars support our constant growth and evolution as a company so that we can satisfy our clients in harmony with the environment:

Innovation

It forms the basis of all we do. We have a modern system for producing charcoal and the subsequent and continual reuse of the residual heat. This way, we avoid emissions into the atmosphere and generate clean energy.

Quality

Among our equipment we have integrated control systems that allow us to achieve a homogeneous product that exceeds the European Union’s strictest quality standards.

Circular economy and sustainability

It is the reason for our existence. We provide sustainable solutions both for olive oil production and for charcoal manufacturing. A perfect example of circular economy: zero waste, zero deforestation, and net-zero emissions.

Activity

Our activity is divided into two lines:

Charcoal production

From olive biomass, we produce high-quality charcoal. This type of charcoal offers great advantages both for industry and for individuals.
Our charcoal has a high calorific value and is environmentally friendly. A sustainable solution that complies with increasingly demanding regulations on atmospheric emissions.

Uses of Biochar:
– Biochar
– Green steel production
– Carbon capture
– Low-emission fuel
– Charcoal for barbecues

On-site thermal energy production

From the olive stone and pulp, we produce thermal energy: a clean energy that helps reduce emissions.
The use of this type of energy is a sustainable solution to meet Air Quality Regulations, as it remains well below current emission limits and even those expected in the future.

Uses of thermal energy:
– Drying of two-phase olive pomace
– Drying of wood chips
– Steam production
– Heating
– Power generation

Biochar is a high-quality charcoal obtained from the biomass of olive stone and pulp, which improves soil properties, enhances water retention capacity, increases fertility, and promotes microbial activity. In this way, Biochar becomes the best ally to improve the quality of your crop in every aspect and, at the same time, contributes to preventing global warming by sequestering carbon.

Green Steel is produced using renewable energies and innovative technologies that minimize carbon dioxide emissions. In this way, it drastically reduces the impact of the steel industry and promotes the transition toward a more sustainable, low-CO2 economy. In addition, it helps companies reduce their footprint and comply with environmental regulations.

abatimiento de carbón

The term Carbon Capture refers to all strategies and technologies aimed at reducing or eliminating carbon dioxide emissions: carbon capture and storage, adoption of renewable energies, reforestation, use of sustainable agricultural techniques… All of this helps to slow down global warming, reduce the carbon footprint of companies, foster technological development, and open up new economic opportunities.

Charcoal is produced from olive stone and pulp through a process that reduces volatile content to less than 20%. Since this type of charcoal comes from a renewable source, it is a more sustainable alternative for generating energy and heating, helping to reduce environmental impact.

This product is made from olive stone and pulp, making it a more sustainable alternative to traditional charcoal. Being plant-based, this charcoal burns more cleanly and efficiently, generating less waste and fewer emissions than other traditionally produced charcoals. Its high calorific value and long-lasting embers make it ideal for professional barbecues.
